A New (to me) Face on the Design Front.....J Logan Interiors

Last night, a friend emailed me a link to the website of J Logan Interiors.
Jennifer Jones of J Logan Interiors is a New York based designer that I share Houston roots with,
so I was intrigued.

I was so refreshed by the images I saw. She seems to have such a clean and classic style, without being boring or TOO subdued. I like her mix of color and textures and the nod to trends while maintaining a timeless aesthetic.

See for yourself!

I love how effortlessly chic this boutique is. It's refreshingly simple.
It's like those girls you see who look so chic with a sleek ponytail and almost no make-up.

I love the mix of color in her living areas. Some of these were designed with Robyn Karp of Robyn Karp Interiors.

I can't decide which of these two is my favorite.
I love this orange chesterfield mixed with soft pinks and greys.

This living room is so clean and ethereal. I love the addition of the beach photograph and the eclectic rug.

And what a DARLING little girls room!

This kitchen looks sleek and functional. I love how the tulip table and faux bamboo chairs are quietly trendy, but classic all at the same time. And a nod to the 60's---which of course I love.

I love this solution to a small space. The clean look of white cabinets and backsplash with the crisp stripe on the walls is fantastic!

I'm glad for the introduction to Miss Jennifer of J Logan Interiors.
Her designs have inspired me in more ways than one!

Design Obsession times 1 million..... Lee Kleinhelter & her "Pieces"

I have often referred to Lee Kleinhelter, and her beautiful store, Pieces on this blog.

The store focuses mostly on vintage pieces of furniture that have been refurbished, but I'm starting to see some custom pieces designed by Mrs. Kleinhelter.

To me, it has a very 1960's vibe, which of course, I adore.

Pieces is one of the first places I look to for inspiration, whether it's for a room I want to redecorate or a piece of furniture that I plan to repurpose.

I've often heard people remark about designers that " You either GET IT, or you don't".
And let me tell you folks, Kleinhelter GETS IT.

I admire her unabashed use of color in her interiors and her perfect mix of sleek mid-century modern pieces with rustic elements.

As for her store, I'm just IN LOVE.
I can't wait for my next trip to Atlanta so I can actually see it in person.

A little sampling of Mrs. Kleinhelter's work.....

Her own home.
Love how she mixes the rustic wood armoire with mid-century chairs and a white lacquer table.

LOVE this twin bedroom.
I used it as inspiration for the bunk room at my mother's Beach House.

I want to live in this dining room.
LOVE the yellow accent color and the marriage of mod dining chairs with an Industrial dining table.

A view into Pieces, her lovely shop.

Since I'm regularly relying on Pieces for Inspiration,
I put together an inspiration board for a formal living room using things from the store....

I have to say that I appreciate that Lee is a fellow pink & orange lover.
She even has separate tabs on her website to showcase pink & orange products!

Be sure to stop by Pieces, Online or In-Person and see what inspires you!

Retro Fabulous..... A Dallas Home Goes Glam!

Ok readers, As my friend Blair so nicely pointed out, I slacked on you for 24 hours.

Deepest Apologies.

To make up for my behavior, I'm retro-actively posting.

So here comes the second bite of fabulousness for the day.

The owner of Again and Again, the repurposed vintage furniture shop I spoke of yesterday (ok, an hour ago.) Leslie Pritchard, has a FABULOUS home in the Turtle Creek area in Dallas.

Her designer friend, Breck Woolsey, glammed it up for her.

And this, my friends, was the BEYOND Fab result:

A few notes on this picture.

1. Love the coral sofa and Missoni-style printed chair.
2. Really into the cowhide rug under the black and gold leaf coffee table
3. Does anyone else notice that Ms. Pritchard is the twin of Celebrity Designer, Kelly Wearstler?

Perhaps that's why Breck decided to use Kelly Wearstler's influence in many of the rooms?

She has pink curtains.
And the Dorothy Draper Style chair is recovered in Kelly Wearstler's Apricot Bengal Bazaar.
DYING.

I have no words for this buffet.
Ok, I have one.
FABULOUS.

I love the way this bed is styled.
Headboard inspired by Kelly Wearstler.
Dusty Rose pillows, tan Hermes blanket.
LOVE the white 1960's side tables and tall lamps.
Gorgeous.

So, Are you or are you not thrilled that I shared this with you?

A Holiday Created by the Candy Companies.....

e-valentine's available at katespade.com

I have often heard people say of V-day,

"It's a holiday created by the candy companies...."

Well, that's A-OK by me,

Because it's the one day a year where it's perfectly acceptable to stuff your face with chocolate, guzzle champagne and snog in public.

Another reason I love Valentine's Day is that it's my favorite time of year to shop.

I don't know why it is, but come February, stores carry the most adorable things.

A few of my favorites:

On a separate note, I'm loving how everything has a sixties vibe right now.

So, Thank You candy companies, for making my February shopping experiences so delightful.

Happy Valentine's Day!

Sixties Sunday.....The Avalon Hotel

I'm constantly thinking about the 60's inspired venues I want to stay at in Palm Springs. The Parker Palm Springs, Viceroy Palm Springs, and the Ace Hotel.

After coming across the gorgeous photos of The Avalon Hotel in Beverly Hills, I have another stop to make when I'm on that side of the country.

It's so beautiful and mid-century modern inspired, that I could cry.

Look at this gorgeous outside seating area. I love the wall pattern.

The lobby is FABULOUS.....

I love the turquoise elements....

Whenever I'm dreaming about/planning/packing for a vacation, I think about possible destination outfits.

Here is my "sipping a SkinnyGirl margarita by the Avalon pool" emsem:
