Loving Meg Braff's 1960's Palm Beach Aesthetic!

It's no shock, but I've come across another Meg Braff Interiors design that I LOVE.
I found these images on House Beautiful's website yesterday while perusing photos
 of 1960's Palm Beach style.

Designing a space that is both sophisticated and playful is a difficult balance to strike, and Meg always seems to hit the nail on the head.

I posted this dining room picture yesterday, but I had to come back for more.
I'm in love with the yellow trellis wallpaper and the bamboo dining chairs.

 How interesting is this staircase?

I love that the neutral wallpaper in this room is still in a fun print!
It brings the power of monochromatic to a whole new level.

What do you think of Meg's lovely design?

The Mother of All 1960's Palm Beach.....

So, I'm kind of really into Elaine Turner right now.

I love love love visiting her boutiques, especially the flagship store in Houston (right down the street from my parent's house!) because they always give me the warmest feeling.

If ever there were a designer who embodies the gloriousness of 1960's Palm Beach, It's Elaine Turner.

A few of my faves from her right now......

 How darling is she?

Every time I see a picture of Miss Elaine, I want to steal her outfit. LOVE the white trench dress!

Looking at Elaine's Spring 2011 collection got me wishing that she would design a home furniture/accessories line. There are some odds and ends available in her store, but I want MORE!

What I thought, would a room designed in her honor look like?

So I found some inspiration.....

Ok, I know this isn't a room, but I love the colors in this wedding invitation suite!

So I'll be mocking up a formal living room in honor of Ms. Turner....
Of course you would enter through a pink front door.

I would have the walls covered in tan grasscloth like the photos below.

I have to admit, I'm deathly afraid of bright colors in my own house, which is something I'm trying to get over. This room would be super bright, but it would need to be grounded with some neutrals.
Like this couch from HighFashionHome

Then I would add this gorgeous console from Pieces in Atlanta

West Elm

The white stools would flank the couch as side tables

The accent colors in this room would be pink and turquoise.
Very 1960's Palm Beach and VERY Elaine Turner

I like that it's not the expected pink and green combo

 Horchow

ZGallerie

I would flank the console with two of these pink bamboo chairs, also from Pieces in ATL

I would use this gold mirrored coffee table from High Fashion Home

With two python covered X-benches from Pieces sitting in front of the coffee table

Opposite the couch I would add two high backed 1960's style armchairs...

Covered in one of these fabulous fabrics....

 Calico Corners

Trina Turk for Schumacher

I would add one of these chandeliers above the sitting area

Horchow

 Pieces

This white cowhide rug from Pieces would ground the colorful sitting area

I would add this pink Jonathan Adler throw

For pillows, I would start out with Neutrals

Etsy

And then go crazy with pink and turquoise prints!

 Trina Turk

Woody Liana on Etsy

For Accessories, I would add pretty coffee table books, especially Dorothy Draper's IN THE PINK

And a turquoise coral from ZGallerie.....

And Voila! A room Ms. Turner would be proud of!

Design Obsession-Celerie Kemble

I remember when I saw this Domino cover for the first time. I had no idea who Celerie Kemble was, but I thought she looked so effortlessly chic. I've kept track of her work since this appearance in Domino, and I love every part of her portfolio.

This won't be a surprise, but I love the 1960's Palm Beach influences in her design aesthetic. Her mother, Mimi McMakin actually started their design firm in the 80's and I think Celerie inherited the very best parts of her mother's taste with her own modern twist.

Some of Kemble Interior's Design Portfolio

I love the yellow bamboo chairs. And the chartreuse wall in the other room.

Can I live in this bedroom please? As if the gorgeous all white bedding mixed with greens isn't amazing enough, you can see the ocean outside the window.

Love what they did for the Gasparilla Inn

Wouldn't Ellie from Cougar Town JUST LOVE IT?!

And Celerie's most recent Media Appearance, Lonny Magazine's Oct/Nov 2010 Issue

Oh Celerie, You're even fabulous when you're pregnant.

LOVE the tent over her bed.

 This 1960's buffet is A-M-A-Z-I-N-G.

I want something like it so badly.

The black cabinets in her dressing area are gorgeous and so chic with the hexagon tiles

I'm really into her line of fabrics for Schumacher. The prints are so versatile and can mix with a variety of styles.
If I was a "real" interior designer, her fabrics would be a major go to for all my clients.

In my first interior design project (I'm currently redoing my mother's beach house: photos to come later) I actually used Celerie's Hothouse Fabric for pillows.

And. They. Look. Fabulous.

I've seen two pictorals of Celerie's offices. Both Different. Both Gorgeous.

I love that turquoise armoire. Isn't it the most precious little nugget?

Fantastic Yellow Damask Rug

I really want Celerie's Design Book, To Your Taste.
I've hinted to Brian about it no less than 38 times as a Christmas Gift Idea.
I may send him this post link, and make it #39.
